I am in my reeling, stary eyed, happy place… What a grand, craptastic hot day, yet its all good (I feel like Henry Miller right now! the happiest woman alive!)… the desktop on my computer is wonderful (its the breeders), the sun outside is shining, the heat – it is all wonderful! everything just plain rocks today.

I thought to myself, while driving down Benefit St. “I wish I’d brought my camera!” Everything just looked like a perfect image. Speaking of pictures, I need to go take pictures of this church on Dexter St. in Providence. I think its a church, it kind of looks like a castle. Its looked amazing at sunset last night, but cell camera just didn’t seem like it could cut it photography wise, I really wanted my Nikon.

I bought part of my Halloween costume and its fabulous because while I do have to alter the skirt, its this fun pattern – its crazy and works perfectly for a queen of hearts costume! the pattern is going to be an over-skirt. The under-skirt part is a black kind of puffy skirt which should make the top skirt also puff out once I’m through with it. I can’t wait to wear it.. if only Halloween lasted a bit longer so one could dress up and be fun for an extra night or two.

And now I can officially watch bits and pieces of All Tomorrow’s Party! Which in my case seems more like “party I didn’t attend” because I lack a passport – I should get one of those, so that I can leave the country on a whim, to see a cool shows for instance, as nothing that monumental seems to happen here in New England…

The Breeders here are playing one of my favorites “Happiness is a warm gun.” By the way, Lovin’ Kim’s dyke haircut.. hey a gal can only hope right?

And Throwing Muses playing “Speed and Sleep.” Better quality than most, well, most on YouTube …which isn’t saying much because the camera at certain points is all over the place, like the back of people’s heads and such.

This one here also of Throwing Muses, its probably good to watch if you a happen to be high or drunk: its a little blurry, the camera is all over the f’n place, and makes me dizzy to watch it…

living vicariously through others…

Unfortunately, I was unable to make it to England last month to see All Tomorrow’s Party’s (Partys?) curated by the Breeders – one of my favorite bands ever, since I was 15 or so. I’ve also never, ever, ever, ever seen them in concert – unless you count me seeing them play on the MTV New Year’s Special in the 90′s which I watched from my aunt and uncle’s living room. And I admit, I watched it twice. So now, I’m once again living vicariously through through others, or in this case via a few links from 4AD as I could not be there to see one of my favorites bands along with one of my other favorites, Throwing Muses. Breaks my heart. So yeah, they’ve posted some fabulous links to pictures of the show so you can stare longingly at the bands you missed! Though maybe that’s just me… I really need a girlfriend.

The ones here of the Throwing Muses are the best! Kristin Hersh’s face in some of them is absolutely priceless… others she looks just plain adorable. Also, there are clearly not enough pictures of the Breeders on the links posted… there’s a few here, someone needs to tell them to be less camera shy.

I finally bought Bat For Lashes “Two Suns” absolutely amazing! I’m addicted to it. Also, despite mixed reviews I purchased the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs “its blitz!” the first song, “zero” gets stuck in my head every time I hear the damn cd. Alot of people say they are whimping out, but I think they are just a band that has evolved. Many bands evolve, its called creative process kids, it happens.. especially if you started out doing creative things at say 19, your sound/style is going to change by say, 30, otherwise its going to get stale.

and this song is now stuck in my head! I can’t wait till the ep comes out Tuesday – I’ll have to somehow make it threw entire day of work before I can go buy it… the video makes me giggle a little bit… (I know what your thinking, shut up Pop!)
